By serving all incomes, ages and abilities, the Boca Raton YMCA serves more than 55,000 people in the diverse community. It brings together young and old, men and women, people of all faiths, backgrounds and incomes. In 2003,more than $410,000 was raised for scholarships, subsidies and other community services. Partnering with neighborhood organizations is key to the YMCA. It works with local and county governments including police and fire departments, public housing developments and children's services; public schools; churches; and other community and civic organizations. The YMCA challenges people to accept and demonstrate the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Boca Raton s YMCA programs impact youth, adults and seniors and the community by incorporating the 40 developmental assets that have been proven by the Search Institute to nurture whole and healthy human beings.
