The Historical Society of Sarasota County is a not-for-profit organization on 12th Street in Pioneer Park. Offices are within the historic Bidwell-Wood Residence built in 1882, which is in the park right next to the historic Crocker Memorial Church. The mission of the society is to preserve Sarasota history and historic sites, collect memorabilia, and educate the general public of Sarasota's history. Historical Trolley tours ($25), and bus tours are offered periodically, and it seeks private and commercial donations. Go to its website for the society's calendar of events and for more historic information.
