The Community Relations Division, governed by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, is charged with making sure that the sheriff's office is responding on all levels for community citizens. It makes sure that community has crucial information about what the sheriff's office is doing on a day-to-day basis. The division also handles the aspects of crime prevention and oversees juvenile programs, including School Resource and Drug Abuse Resistance Education and Juvenile Diversion programs. The Community Relations Division provides the Ride-a-long Program. In addition, it offers business crime prevention programs. The division provides hurricane preparedness information and conducts home security surveys.
