Founded in 1966, the Seacamp Association is a nonprofit marine science educational facility that offers recreational and social opportunities for individuals. It conducts a range of summer camps that focus on scuba diving, sailing, board sailing, and arts and crafts for students between the ages of 12 and17. The Seacamp Association operates the Newfound Harbor Marine Institute, which organizes workshops, residential programs and field study sessions for more than 8,000 school-age children, youths and teachers. Its facilities include a science laboratory, deep water harbor, commercial kitchen, business office, lounge, arts and crafts building, sailing and teaching shelters, and dining and recreation halls. Additionally, the facility organizes international educational and adventurous trips. The Seacamp Association is located in Big Pine Key, Fla.
