HistoryWelcome to Heathrow Christian Academy at Markham Woods Presbyterian Church Preschool I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Heathrow Christian Academy. The preschool opened 17 years ago with one classroom two staff members and a small group of students. Within a couple of years, the number of students increased to over 30. Now we offer seven different programs for students ranging in age from 2 through 4 and have a staff of 13. For many years we have dreamed of a new facility and this year our dream is finally becoming a reality. We will begin our school year with two VPK classrooms located in Anderson Hall, the three year old classroom and the two year old classroom located in the Sanctuary building. The school office will be located in the large room of Anderson Hall. The staff of MWPC Preschool worked all summer to prepare the classrooms for the first day of school. We will continue to offer the same quality program that we have offered in the past as we beSpecialtiesMarkham Woods Presbyterian Pre-school and Kindergarten (beginning 2014-15) is dedicated to providing a Christian based school experience for the children of our congregation, and children of the surrounding communities. The school is an extension of the children's ministries of Markham Woods Presbyterian Church. With emphasis on God's love, our school strives to be a witness to the church's commitment to nurturing children and their families. Our curriculum establishes a foundation for kindergarten and elementary school. Readiness skills are incorporated into an environment, which is conducive to social skill development. Our curriculum encourages enthusiasm for learning, a positive self-image, and an understanding of the love of God. There are certified teachers in each classroom and low teacher/pupil ratio.
