Port Orange City Center Municipal Complex is a main hub for public events in Port Orange. A half-mile walking trail surrounds the lake with a fountain in the middle. There really is not a worst time to go. Even during times of preparation for special events, the staff rarely closes an area. The absolute best time to go is during the Christmas in the Park event and the surrounding weeks. Trees around the walking paths sparkle with white lights and giant Christmas trees are lit throughout the park.

Every Thursday from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM local farmers and artisans are set up at the circle. The library hosts regular, free events for children and adults. The lake is home to many turtle families and birds, all eager to approach visitors with snacks.

The Fourth of July fireworks draw the biggest crowd. Plan to arrive early or you may find yourself searching for off-site parking. It's not posted, but restrooms and water fountains are located on the north side of the community center building.
