Major Alexis Davis oversees the Detention and Corrections Bureau of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
The jail is made up of six parts including North, South, Central, Corrections Special Operations, Support and Inmate Healthcare. There are more than 2,900 inmates in the jail.
The 432 bed Inmate Healthcare facility provides comprehensive inmate medical coverage including dental, psychiatric and other health services.
The $35-million, 165,200 square foot facility opened in 2007. Its medical services include X-rays, dialysis, three dental chairs, 20 negative pressure isolation cells, a mental health clinic and a trauma clinic.
