After graduation from Harvard and Duke University Medical School, Dr. Raskauskas trained at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He did his retina and vitreous surgical training at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami, Miami, FL. He joined Dr. Walker and Dr. Wing at Retina Consultants of Southwest Florida in 1992. He has a particular interest in studying Geographic Atrophy, a type of Age-Related Macular Degeneration. He is currently the Principal Investigator for several clinical trials and has been a part of dozens of pivotal clinical trials that have led to FDA approval of new therapies to fight retina or vitreous diseases. He has served as an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Scientist for the Schepens Eye Research Institute affiliated with Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, and has also served on the Advisory Council for Lighthouse of Southwest Florida, a not for profit organization that provides aid to the blind at no cost. He was awarded the James W. Clower, Jr. MD Community Service Award, presented by the Florida Society of Ophthalmology Foundation for his volunteer work at Lions Club of Bonita Springs.
