Operational since 1974, the Highlands Christian Academy offers religious and academic education to students in kindergarten through grade 12. It provides training sessions in phonics, reading, writing, numbers and music to preschool children. The academy offers an opportunity for students to participate in several areas of fine arts, including creative writing and speech. It organizes a range of athletic activities that includes volleyball, soccer and basketball. The Highlands Christian Academy also organizes summer camps. It employs teachers who are certified through the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. The academy is a part of Highlands Baptist Church. The Highlands Christian Academy is located in Lakeland, Fla.
