The company was originally organized as Cyclodextrin Technologies Development, a seller of cyclodextrins and related products to the food, pharmaceutical and other industries. Cyclodextrins are molecules that bring together 'oily' materials and water and have potential applications anywhere 'oily substances' and water must be used together. The company has worked with clients for more than 11 years to develop many cyclodextrin-based applications in a variety of areas, such as proteomics, nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, foods and environmental clean-up.
