Community Blood Centers of South Florida, also known as CBCSF, is a nonprofit blood collection agency. Established in 1983, it collects more than 220,000 pints of blood and related products for hospital and kidney dialysis patients every year. The agency operates over 15 donor centers throughout South Florida. Community Blood Centers of South Florida also maintains nearly 35 bloodmobiles that visit businesses, places of worship, government agencies and schools on a scheduled basis. It offers a range of clinical services, including physician consultation, apheresis and blood transfusion. The agency administers various blood and plasma donation programs. It is licensed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Community Blood Centers of South Florida is a member of the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI).
