History
University School of Nova Southeastern University is an independent, college preparatory school that educates students in grades Junior Kindergarten through twelfth grade. Since 1971, the school has provided a challenging and personalized education within a supportive environment for students of average to gifted abilities. Our students are prepared for productive lives and leadership roles through a program that focuses on academic excellence, extracurricular participation, and service to others.

On a vibrant, expansive campus that currently houses nearly 2,000 students in prekindergarten through grade 12, University School students enjoy a challenging academic curriculum with a wide range of choices, strong fine and performing arts options, and a robust athletic program. University School helps develop global leaders who acquire the knowledge, skills, and habits that are required for them to be successful. This year, the Robotics Team won the highest award at their recent tournament, the speech and debate team ranks in the top 1 percent in the nation (third year in a row), and our chess teams scored among the top five in their grade-defined sections and qualified for the chess championship (third year in a row)! Starting as early as prekindergarten, University School sets a foundation for success and a love for learning in a child-centered environment. Active learning, personalized instruction, and skilled teachers (75 percent have advanced degrees)--who use a combination of developmental theories to design a unique learning program for each child--are the hallmarks of University School's early childhood programs and set it apart from other schools.
