Joe Taylor, originally a Knickerbocker Beer distributor who served the Brockton area of Massachusetts. In 1973, Taylor acquired Sterling Beverage of Fall River, Mass., a Knickerbocker distributor to the Miller Brewing Company. In 1976, J.J. Taylor established itself in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn. area through the acquisition of East Side Beverage, an exclusive distributor of Miller. In 1997, J.J. Taylor expanded into the Tampa/St. Petersburg, Fla., area under the name of J.J. Taylor Distributing/Tampa Bay. J.J. Taylor Distributing of Fort Myers-Naples, Fla., followed in 2001.
