North Miami Beach Finance Department has been operational for more than 50 years. The department provides financial management and policy support, analytical services, and financial information to the city manager, departments, residents and other agencies. It monitors spending activities and manages city funds. The finance department also provides management oversight of important financial services, including accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Additionally, it handles city administration, receiving and processing of financial transactions, maintaining and auditing of accounts, and preparation of asset, liability, revenue and expenditure reports. The department administers billing and collection services, utility solutions, meter reading applications, maintenance of general ledger, cash accounts, specific funds, and coordinates the collection of delinquent bills.
