New Horizons of the Okeechobee and the Treasure Coast is one of the leading providers of mental health and substance abuse prevention services in the United States. A private, nonprofit corporation, it has been operational for more than 50 years. Based in Fort Pierce, the organization serves more than 2,500 children and adults in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and Saint Lucie counties in Florida. New Horizons offers a wide variety of services, such as 24-hour emergency and critical care, screenings and assessments, adult crisis stabilization, alcohol detoxification solutions and adult mental health services. The center also offers outpatient and inpatient care, case management, group housing, short-term residential treatment programs, social rehabilitation services and community assertive treatment teams. Additionally, New Horizons offers criminal justice and forensic services, children's programs, counseling, student assistance services and on-site therapeutic solutions.
