A subdivision of the Naples, Fla., city government, the Naples Community Services Department consists of two divisions, parks and parkways and recreation. The parks and parkways division maintains an urban forest of approximately 22,000 trees and palms. The division employs nearly five certified arborists and performs all landscape management on more than 125 acres of parks and medians, including maintenance of plants, turf, waterways, bays, beaches and pest control. The recreation division is responsible for the parks and community centers located throughout the city, including the city pier, the city dock, Cambier Park and the Norris Community Center, Fleischmann Park, Lowdermilk Park, River Park, the city tennis center at Cambier Park and the recreation programs at Gulfview Middle School. The department is also responsible for the CSD Ambassadors volunteer support program.
