The Morean Arts Center, with roots dating back to 1917 as the Art Club of St. Petersburg, focuses on an innovative, community-oriented approach to art and art education.
Our classes and outreach programs are designed to bring out the artist in all of us. We offer adult programs, kids’ programs, family programs, early childhood programs, and summer camp programs, attracting beginners and advanced students alike.
Our programming doesn’t stop there. Our gallery spaces show local and regional artists, an Art Lounge, interactive Make Space, Spice Routes café and more! Operating under the Morean Arts Center includes the Chihuly Collection, Glass Studio & Hot Shop and the Morean Center for Clay.
Chihuly Collection:
The CHIHULY COLLECTION is located at 400 Beach Drive about a mile East of the Morean Arts Center. It is a stunning, permanent collection of world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly’s unique artwork in a magnificent 10,000 square foot setting designed by award-winning architect Albert Alfonso. The Collection is located on the city’s waterfront in downtown St. Petersburg on Beach Drive in the heart of the most vibrant tourist area in St. Petersburg.
This presentation is unique as it is the first installation of Chihuly art in a building designed specifically for that purpose. Designed so that the art and architecture work together to create a visitor experience unlike any other exhibition of Chihuly’s art. The Collection is marked at the entrance by an iconic 20 foot sculpture created especially for the site.
The Collection Store is a haven for glass lovers and offers a selection of art by Dale Chihuly as well as a variety of related merchandise. No ticket required for the store.
