HistoryCommunity Montessori School was founded in 1989 to provide children with a prepared environment that encourages the development of the whole child. This vision has become a reality over the past 30 years, as CMS has continued to grow and expand. Every program is designed to meet the child's needs at each developmental stage from Toddler through Adolescence, in accordance with Montessori theory. CMS began with one Toddler classroom and one Primary classroom at our Webb Road Campus and has now expanded to include two more Primary classrooms. The Elementary program is a natural continuation of the preschool experience and the campus around the corner on Civic Road was established to house the Lower Elementary (grades 1-3) and Upper Elementary classrooms (grades 4-6). In the fall of 2005, CMS began offering an Adolescent Program for students aged 12-15 years (grades 7-9).SpecialtiesCommunity Montessori School is a private school located in the Town and Country area of Tampa. CMS has a Toddler Program for kids 18 months - 3 years, a Primary Program for pre-k and kindergarteners (3-5 years), an Elementary Program (grades 1-6), and an Adolescent Program (grades 7-9). Community Montessori School is a private school where students learn through unique, hands-on, discovery-based learning that prepares them academically while building their sense of personal responsibility and confidence. Highly trained teachers guide students through developmentally appropriate work and provide individualized lessons. Students at Community Montessori School hold and maintain a true love of learning, one that is carried with them throughout their life.
