History
New KidsTown opened in October 2016. This $5 million dollar project signaled the completion of the first phase of the $30 million Unlock Science Campaign, a multi-year/multi-phase effort to renovate all the exhibits and expand resources at the Science Center. New KidsTown is located at Orlando Science Center, which opened as the Central Florida Museum and Planetarium in Orlando in 1955. The Science Center has been at its current location on Princeton Street since 1997.

New KidsTown encompasses 11,000 square feet of original content designed to engage and stimulate the minds of children ages 7 and under. New KidsTown is the largest new exhibit that the Science Center has created in the past 20 years, offering iconic experiences, exciting discoveries and untold opportunities for creativity, collaboration and problem solving.
