The Jacksonville Port Authority is an independent, international trade seaport in northeastern Florida. The authority owns and operates passenger cruise and public marine terminals. Its terminals handle container, automobile, bulk and refrigerated cargoes. The authority offers passenger cruise service from Florida to The Bahamas. The Jacksonville Port Authority also provides local ferry services. The authority owns Jacksonville International Airport. In addition, it owns cranes, warehouses, paved open storage areas, docks and wharfs. The authority operates Blount Island Marine Terminal, Talleyrand Marine Terminal and Dames Point Marine Terminal. It handles more than 15 million tons of cargoes annually. The Jacksonville Port Authority employs a staff of over 100 people.
