Named for the housing development in which it is situated, Hunter's Green Elementary School serves more than 800 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
The school opened in 1992. As the New Tampa region began to expand, Hunter's Green was soon bursting at the seams with enrollment -- with 38 portable classrooms becoming necessary by 1997. The school's capacity problem was a major trigger in the successful push to build more schooling in New Tampa.
Hunter's Green features both before- and after-school programs. Its colors are green and gold and the mascot is a panther.
