The Guardianship Program of Dade County is a private, nonprofit agency. It is a public guardian for indigent adults who are adjudicated incapacitated in Miami-Dade County in Florida. The agency offers legal, medical, financial, social and psychiatric services. The Guardianship Program of Dade County operates 24 hours a day. It also accepts several Medicare insurance plans. The agency serves more than 5,000 individuals. Operational for over 25 years, the Guardianship Program of Dade County is funded by the State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs, Catholic Community Services and Jewish Family Services. In addition, it secures living arrangements and authorizes and oversees medical treatments.
