The Agency for Persons with Disabilities, State of Florida, supports people with developmental disabilities in living, learning and working and all aspects of community life. Developmental disabilities is a broad term that refers to a variety of conditions that interfere with a person's ability to function in everyday activities and includes spina bifida, autism, cerebral palsy, Prader-Willi syndrome and mental retardation. APD works in partnership with local communities and private care providers to assist people with developmental disabilities. It also provides assistance, support and services.
