The Florida, Office of Financial Regulation works to protect consumers from financial fraud. The office is responsible for licensing, chartering, examining and regulating depository and nondepository financial institutions and companies in the State of Florida. It manages a securities division that examines dealers and investment advisers. The Florida, Office of Financial Regulation also participates in contract negotiation and development projects. The office manages a financial investigations bureau that is responsible for conducting the financial investigations of illegal activities. In addition, it manages legal services and inspector general offices. The Florida, Office of Financial Regulation is administratively housed in the Florida Department of Financial Services.
