History
The Good Shepherd Pool was the gift of Mrs. E. Wellington Cummer (the mother-in-law of Nina Cummer, the patron of Cummer Museum), and followed her loss of a grandchild to drowning. She wanted all the children of Jacksonville to learn to swim, and thousands have over the years.
