Established in 1971, the Elder Services of Okaloosa County, earlier known as the Okaloosa County Council on Aging, works to promote the well-being of individuals aged 60 years and older. The organization offers food services for homebound and at-risk individuals through the Meals on Wheels program. It also provides counseling, companionship, nutrition education, and shopping assistance programs. The Elder Services of Okaloosa County manages Elder Home Care, which is a licensed agency that offers non-medical services to frail and recuperating people. In addition, the organization operates assisted living facilities that provide housekeeping and laundry services. It manages congregate dining sites in Fort Walton Beach and Crestview in Florida. The Elder Services of Okaloosa County offers social and training programs.
