Drapery Lane maintains traditional characteristics of a drapery workroom while offering the latest products available in the window fashion industry. Founded in 1965 by Hal & Jacquelyn Chapman, the company sold custom draperies, shades and bedspreads in east Boca Raton, Florida. In 1986, after a change in ownership, the company moved to its current location in Boynton Beach. At this time Anthony LaFerrera took over ownership after being an employee with the company for over 8 years. Anthony brought a combined 16 years experience in the industry, originally learning the trade while working in Manhattan in the early 1970s.Drapery Lane continued manufacturing traditional draperies and shades after the ownership change, but now began offering cutting-edge shades and blinds offered by Graber. In 1988 the Duette was added to the product line, the innovative cellular-pleated shade from newly formed Hunter Douglas. Plantation-style interior shutters were added to the product line in 1990.Drapery Lane earned Hunter Douglas priority gold dealer status in 2003, and its installers routinely attend Hunter's product and installation seminars. As of summer of 2004, the showroom has been renovated to display the newest fashions available as well as time-tested classics.
