The Division of Blind Services is Florida's state agency responsible for ensuring that people of all ages in the state who are blind or visually impaired can live independently and achieve their goals. Services are provided through 12 district offices, the Division's Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, local Community Rehabilitation programs, or through a local Center for Independent Living. Services include a Blind Babies program, a Children's program, a School-to-Work Transition program, Independent Living, Vocational Rehabilitation, and Business Enterprise. The Division's Bureau of Braille and Talking Book Library administers a free library program of Braille and recorded materials for eligible readers. Division Director is Joyce Hildreth; the District Administrator for Hillsborough County is Julius Kimmie. The Tampa District Office - District 7 - serves Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, and Polk Counties.
