History
Rev C.D. Williams and his partner in ministry Shannon Kania, President of the Destiny Center, launched the Destiny Center of SWFL in August of 2016 after they felt a great need for a fully inclusive congregation in the Lee County area and call of God. We started with a in home bible study and worship and as we began to grow in numbers we began to seek out a space in North Fort Myers. We found the location on Pondella Road and opened our Thrift Store as a means to financially support our ministry needs. Future plans include the opening of the space next door as a sanctuary in 2017 for weekly worship services and will be open for use as a meeting place for recovery meetings and group therapy meetings such as but not limited to AA, CA, and NA. We plan to partner with groups such as Visuality Youth Community Center and One Program and to launch a student back pack program that will sent home nutritious snacks for after school.
Specialties
We are a fully inclusive Christian community that strives to help all that come through our doors to discover their God given talents, to develop their talents and help them deploy with their gifts. We have seen a great need in the North Fort Myers area and Lee County as a whole for a fully inclusive congregation that is welcoming to LGBTQ+, those struggling with addiction, homeless individuals, and re-entry residents. During the day, we have a community store front Thrift Store that allows us to serve the community with great prices and in some cases help set up new homes in need. In the evenings our space is open for meetings and fellowship. We meet every Thursday at 7pm for fellowship and bible study. Come join us. If you are in need of a space to hold recovery meetings, please contact us.
