History
Dade City Animal Clinic has been in practice for over 60 years. From the age of 13, Dr Chet Taylor worked as an assistant to his mentor and former owner, Dr. H. R. Smalley. Dr. Chet graduated from Pasco High School in 1974 and went on the earn his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Sciences in 1977 and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1982 from University of FL, Gainesville. After graduation, he stayed on as an intern at the UF in Rural Animal Medicine for one year. In 1983, Dr. Chet reunited with Dr. Smalley at Dade City Animal Clinic as an associate After over 30 years in the same location and upon Dr. Smalley's retirement, Dr. Chet bought the practice in 1997. Dr. Chet is the Pasco County Fair Vet, a member of the Pasco County Fair Board, a founding member of the Pasco County Fair Dairy Showmanship Competition and a charter member of the Pasco County Fair Dairy Committee. Dr. Chet is a Friend of the Florida State 4-H and supporter of the local Future Farmers of America chapters.

Our goal is to treat our clients as we would treat our families, and to take care of our clients' pets as though they were our own. Our clients and patients are the heart of our practice and the reason we are here. At all times, our clients will be given respect, dignity and compassion. Our current Doctors in residence are Chester W. Taylor, III, DVM (Dr. Chet), Brian Dillard, DVM, and Jeffery Alt, DVM. Specializing in all Small Animal, Large Animal and Livestock.
