The Bureau of Probation and Parole Field Services works under the Florida Department of Corrections. The bureau is responsible for developing, implementing, revising and monitoring programs in the areas of probation and other field supervision operations. It also oversees sentencing guidelines, probation and parole databases, court-ordered payments, and sexual offenders and predators. It develops policies for over 4,000 correctional probation officers and staff, as well as supervises over 150,000 offenders requiring community supervision. The Bureau of Probation and Parole Field Services collects fees from offenders for victim restitution, court fines and costs. It conducts nearly 270,000 investigations annually and works closely with other law enforcement agencies in the community to ensure the safety of the community.
