Mold Removal and Remediation WHAT IS MOLD? Mold is a fungi caused by inadequate ventilation through doors, windows, and air vents and some types can be quite harmful to one's health. Mold is usually detected through visual observation where walls, ceilings, and air vents have become discolored or stained from moisture penetration. When a Contractor determines that mold has exceeded 10' in length or diameter, the homeowner will be advised to contact and hire a Certified Mold Consultant who will wear full gear protection to inspect, examine and assess all contaminated areas, and prepare al Mold Remediation Report. Most likely, a homeowner's insurance policy will carry protection coverage for mold assessment and removal. Mold Removal and Remediation Process By Contractor After a Mold Remediation Report is prepared, the Contractor will: . Double-check mold presence while wearing full disposable gear protection . Use air filtration equipment to prevent further spreading of mold spores . Remove mold and any mold-infested areas, such as drptall and carpeting . Disconnect and remove contaminated plumbing r Remove, discard, and haul away pertinent debris o Professionally clean and sanitize infected areas and surrounding items . Replace dnywall and painting, and also new carpeting if needed r Reconstruct affected areas in their original locations Air filtration equipment will be in operation for 2lo 3 weeks to ensure that mold is removed and healthy air quality is restored.
