The mission of the Lake Wales Area Chamber of Commerce is to promote and enhance a strong business climate while supporting a desirable quality of life in the greater Lake Wales area. The Lake Wales Area Chamber of Commerce promotes the economic well-being of the entire community and is a leading advocate for businesses and residents alike. Chamber committees work in areas of common concern: Legislative issues, economic development, tourism, local education, and more. Among the many benefits Chamber members receive are: Networking - through numerous and frequent Chamber activities, business and community leaders network with each other to generate new business, develop solid leads, and build long-lasting friendships. Business Promotion - through the on-line Member Directory, member goods and services are promoted to on-line visitors 24/7. The Chamber's alphabetical Membership Guide is constantly updated and is available on-line in a PDF version, which is available as needed to all who wish to download the most current information. A listing of members by category is printed in-house to insure current information is distributed to residents and area visitors through our Lake Wales Area Resident & Visitors Guide. Members may also sponsor the Chamber's monthly activities, special events, and programs and receive additional exposure through the Chamber's publications, on-line, and at sponsored events. In addition, members are invited to provide flyers and business cards for distribution through the Chamber's Welcome Center, which is open Monday - Friday, 9 am - 4 pm. Educational - through the Chamber's monthly newsletter, luncheon speakers, and educational seminars, members stay abreast of the latest business and community happenings. Business/Sales Leads - access to Chamber member lists and other relevant business-building data provides solid business leads. Credibility - Membership brings your business instant, recognized credibility with your customers. A weekly Member News e-mail broadcast keeps members up-to-date on area activities and gives members an opportunity to communicate with fellow members on issues, special events, and business promotional activities. The Chamber also publishes a monthly newsletter, Connectionsoutlining current projects, board actions, and other events of interest to members, as well as a monthly community newsletter, the BellTower, in cooperation with the News Chief. General membership meetings are held on a regular basis where the Board President reports on the Chamber's activities. These meetings usually feature a speakers on subjects of current community interest. Monthly Business-After-Hours receptions sponsored and hosted by member businesses serve as additional networking opportunities.
