The Community Atlas, founded in 2006, was a valuable resource that provided citizens, professionals, and students in Tampa, FL with comprehensive and accessible data through interactive mapping. Maintained by the Florida Center for Community Design and Research at the University of South Florida, the atlas aimed to visualize and compare current and historical information for local communities and neighborhoods.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of funding from local governments and sponsors, the Community Atlas was discontinued in November 2017. Developed by the University of South Florida Water Institute and the School of Architecture and Community Design, the atlas was a collaborative effort with project partners such as the Children's Board of Hillsborough County.
