Based in Cocoa, Fla., Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department is a local government agency working with nonprofit recreation partners and state/local agencies. Established in 1854, the facility conducts a variety of programs involving leisure activities. It manages several parks, community/cultural centers, campgrounds, three golf courses and more. The department is responsible for managing nature centers, beach access sites/school athletic sites.
