Located in Wauchula, Fla., the Hardee County Family YMCA is one of the five fitness branches that are operated by the Sarasota Family YMCA. Founded in 1994, the facility includes a fitness room that is equipped with cardio, free weight and Nautilus equipment. Its before- and after-school programs include homework assistance, music and drama classes, sports activities, and arts and crafts. The Hardee County Family YMCA features an aerobics studio that conducts heart-thumping classes. Its after-school program, Adventure Club, serves children in kindergarten through grade five. The organization offers the YMCA Rookies, which is a skill development program that prepares children to participate in YMCA Winners, a competitive sports program.
