The CME church was founded as a result of the end of slavery and the transition to freedom. It evolved from Methodist doctrine and became the Methodist Episcopal Church South, an independent religious organization. In 1870, it adopted the Methodist South Book of Discipline and the religious leaders departed with their own church a reality. This location is in a quiet area of mid-Clearwater. Weekly activities and study groups include a prayer group on Tuesdays at 7:30pm and Bible study Wednesdays at 7:30pm. It also has a nice area for children to play.
