History
Allied Capoeira League Gainesville was started by Florida-born professional Capoeirista Joshua Broadhead (a.k.a. Mestrando Mico). Mestrando Mico has been practicing Capoeira for 20 years. After opening schools in cities across the country including Tallahassee, Miami, and San Francisco, Mestrando Mico decided to settle down in Gainesville to start his family and continue his Capoeira profession. Two daughters and three years later, he is proud to open up an Academy again and serve the Gainesville community through quality programming. Prior to the opening of the academy, Mico taught Capoeira at several locations throughout Gainesville, while working a full-time job, and supporting his wife and two kids. At the beginning of 2017, he and his wife, Jasmine, decided it was time to work on the business full time. They now work side by side on the business with their two toddlers running around and could not be happier doing so.
