Established in 1963 and located in Palmetto Bay, Fla., Alexander School provides a wide range of educational and extracurricular programs. The school houses a preschool and kindergarten, elementary campus, and Montessori. Its Ludlam Road elementary campus is a home to lower school for students ages 6-to-9, and middle school for students ages 9-to-12. The elementary campus curriculum includes English, language arts and enrichment, social studies, mathematics, Spanish, French, art, music, and physical education. Alexander School also provides private lessons in music, violin, cello, piano, and tennis, as well as extracurricular activities, including ballet, soccer, ceramics and chess. The school has a total enrollment of more than 550 children. Its additional programs and services include reading lab, math lab and Mortensen mathematics, computer education, winter and spring camps, and fun weeks. Alexander School is accredited by Florida Council of Independent Schools, Association of Independent Schools of Florida, and Florida Kindergarten Council.
