History
We began in 1991 as a group called Tappers With Attitude, the second tap youth ensemble of its kind, and we added the studio in 1994. Incorporated as a non profit 501 (c)3, TWA was in existence for 19 years and sent many tap dancers to Broadway and to fine careers in performance and teaching. Capitol Tap has since replaced TWA as the youth ensemble and TWA as the nonprofit was changed to just Knock On Wood Tap Studio. We also have a group called the Lunch Bunch which consists of mostly mature students who perform all over the area. KOW is the premiere place to learn to tap, to perform, to exercise, to learn the history of this American art form and take pride in it, and to have fun!
