International Research & Exchanges Board is an international nonprofit organization that provides programs to improve the quality of education, strengthen independent media and foster pluralistic civil society development. Founded in 1968, the board has a staff of more than 500 professionals. The board and its partner IREX Europe delivers cross-cutting programs and consulting expertise in more than 50 countries. Located in Washington, D.C., its programs include educational institution development, teacher and faculty training, curriculum development and undergraduate and graduate study abroad. The board works with local partners and promotes newspapers, radio, television and Internet media. It additionally provides journalism training and education, media strategy and management, business development and advertising, news and public affairs production and media law reform and advocacy.
