The Georgetown University Library owes its beginnings to the extensive personal collection of Louis Guillaume Valentin DuBourg, the University's third president. The library credits its growth to the gifts of alumni and other donors.
The Georgetown University Library is open to the public during limited hours, daily. A dozen computers have guest log-in options for public use. The library also has regular events with authors that are open to the membership-based Library Associates. A government-issued photo ID is required for public entrance and use of the library.
