The SEED Foundation is a nonprofit organization that works to establish public boarding schools to serve the educational needs of children from underserved communities in the United States. It offers an innovative educational model that integrates academic and boarding programs. The SEED Foundation established first school, The SEED School of Washington, D.C., in 1998. Its academic programs include math, English, social studies and science classes. The foundations schools offer instruction in physical education, technology, foreign languages and art. It also provides college-preparatory curriculum that include coaching related to financial literacy, advanced technology, journalism, youth justice and the history of hip hop. Additionally, The SEED Foundation conducts basketball and flag football tournaments, camps and clinics. It is located in Washington, D.C.
