Edward C. Mazique Parent Child Center was founded in 1968 to work with families in their homes to improve prenatal health and healthy birth outcomes. With a more than 30, 000 square feet of child development facility, it is a nonprofit organization that serves approximately 300 children and their families. The center receives funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, United Planning Organization and United Way, as well as parent fees, foundations and individual donations. Edward C. Mazique Parent Child Center has partnerships with Accent Health, the Alexander Graham Bell Foundation, Children s Charities Foundation, Medicaid Health Network and Trinity College. It provides a Head Start program for families with children up to the age of 3. The center offers on-site speech, language, physical and occupational therapies.
