History
I started in the mortgage industry right out of college. I worked for World Savings initially, and then moved over to Bank of America. After working at BOA for 2.5 years, I moved to Wells Fargo to help them start a DC office. At the time (2002), I saw Wells as a smaller bank, and one more focused on getting the mortgage correct. After 9 years at Wells, and being with them through many changes, incl. the acquisition of Wachovia and growth of bank branches in the DC area, I decided to move to a mortgage only platform at First Home Mortgage. I managed their effort to create and develop their DC presence. I have subsequently moved on to Atlantic Coast mortgage to help them do the same - build a strong presence in DC and Maryland. As a correspondent (direct) lender, we focus only on the mortgage process, and NOT on cross selling bank products. Additionally, we are able to lend using direct guidelines from Fannie and Freddie, giving more clients the ability to obtain a loan.
