History
DanceInTimeProductions has taught Cuban Salsa (and other Latin dances) in the DC metro area for eighteen years. Classes are taught by Barbara Bernstein and other DanceInTime staff. DIT has produced shows for the Kennedy Center, the DC Convention Center, provided entertainment at an NBA game at the Verizon Center between quarters, as well as parties/events of all kinds. Advanced students sometimes refine their steps by joining the DanceInTime performance team. Though we are a diverse group, we share a common love of Latin music and dancing that bonds us in a meaningful way. And we work hard to make newcomers feel welcome!
Specialties
We offer fun Salsa lessons in metro DC on Saturdays. We specialize in Cuban Style Salsa, danced as a group in a Rueda circle. The classes are very clearly and logically taught, so that beginners feel comfortable. But advanced dancers are moved quickly and learn a huge amount. Class is always loads of fun! We start with registration at 1 pm and divide into groups by levels. After 2:30 pm have a break with open dancing so everyone can mingle, chat, and dance. Then we continue with instruction for advanced class levels. Typically, after class, whoever is interested goes out to eat together nearby. There are classes various other days as well at different locations. Up to date class details are on the danceintime website. Students who have learned many moves may be invited to join a student team if they are interested. DanceInTime does shows and demonstrations for events large and small in the DC area and beyond. It's all great exercise, great fun and a wonderful way to make new friends. In addition to offering classes at clubs, studios, on campuses, etc, DanceInTime does specialty programs at libraries, festivals or other venues. Feel free to call or email with questions about our schedule any time! We teach specific classes and events but are available to answer questions or chat any time. Welcome to the joy of Salsa dancing with DanceInTime!
