History
Initially an organization of people who worked on Capitol Hill, the group has since expanded its membership to 100 singers from diverse professions and backgrounds. Congressional Chorus, directed by Artistic Director David Simmons, has offices and rehearsals at Calvary Baptist Church. Congressional Chorus is also one of the arts partners at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. In addition to its programs at the Atlas, Congressional Chorus has sung for several occasions at the White House, Nationals Ballpark, US Capitol, Kennedy Center, Harman Center for the Arts, Church of the Epiphany and at numerous functions on Capitol Hill that have included presidential inaugurations and the Capitol Christmas tree lighting.
