The American Public Human Services Association is a nonprofit, bipartisan organization of individuals and agencies concerned with human services. Its members include all state and territorial human services agencies, more than 150 local agencies and thousands of individuals who work in or otherwise have an interest in human service programs. Its mission is to develop, promote and implement public human service policies and practices that improve the health and well-being of families, children and adults. The organization has more than 10 affiliate organizations consisting of individuals engaged in or concerned with policy and practice associated with major fields of public human service endeavors. It provides specific assistance and service programs, such as food stamps, child welfare and general support functions for human services that includes information systems, training and development. Its affiliates include the American Association of Food Stamp Directors, American Association of Public Welfare Attorneys and the Association of Administrators of the Interstate Compact on Adoption and Medical Assistance. It is located in Washington, D.C.
