The Delaware State Education Association, founded in 1919, is a union of public school employees. The association advocates for the rights and interests of its members, as well as outstanding public education for students. It has more than 11,000 members in over 15 school districts. The Delaware State Education Association also represents nearly 2,000 education support employees. The association provides professional development and networking opportunities. In addition, it offers membership discount benefits. The association provides training programs in assertive discipline, stress management, team building, child abuse prevention and grievance. The Delaware State Education Association is an affiliate of the National Education Association.
