Founded in 1978, The Crisis Center for South Suburbia is a nonprofit community organization that provides emergency shelter and other services for individuals and families who are victims of domestic violence. It offers individual and group counseling, family case management, hospital-based advocacy, community policing and transitional housing services. Crisis Center for South Suburbia administers the Fresh Start Dating Violence Program, which works to reduce domestic violence by reaching young people through educational programs on the dynamics of dating violence and healthy relationship. It offers presentations that focus on several complex issues of domestic violence. In addition, the organization provides internships for bachelor- and master-level students seeking to work with domestic violence cases. The Crisis Center for South Suburbia is located in Tinley Park, Ill.
